Lauren DeAngelis of Marlton Named Top History Graduate at La Salle University

La Salle's Stuart Leibiger presents Lauren DeAngelis with the award for top graduate in the History Department

PHILADELPHIA, PA (06/21/2011)(readMedia)-- Lauren DeAngelis of Marlton was named the top graduate in the History Department at La Salle University. An Honors student, Lauren wrote her Honors Paper on "George Washington and the Newburg Conspiracy of 1783." She conducted much of her research at the David Library of the American Revolution in Washington's Crossing, Pennsylvania, where she examined the letters and papers of George Washington and other Revolutionary War soldiers and statesmen.

Currently, Lauren is enrolled in the Five-Year BA/MA Program in History at La Salle, and will complete her master's degree in the spring of 2012. For the past three years, Lauren has been the president of La Salle's Undergraduate Historical Society. She has planned successful day-long student field trips to Gettysburg National Military Park, George Washington's Mount Vernon Plantation, Smithsonian Museums in Washington, D.C., Harper's Ferry National Historical Park, and Antietam National Military Park. Lauren is also the editor of the The Histories, La Salle's student historical journal, which is published every semester.
