ALBANY, NY (06/23/2010)(readMedia)-- Robyn Young, CEO of OPCS Federal Credit Union in Orchard Park, was elected to the New York Credit Union Foundation's Board of Trustees during their recent board meeting. She will join 17 seated trustees in working to help improve the financial literacy and independence of New Yorkers and promote the credit union difference.
Young has 25 years of experience in the credit union movement. She joined OPCS Federal Credit Union as their CFO in 2003 and was promoted to CEO in 2004. Since becoming CEO, Young has led the credit union's membership expansion, in turn transforming the credit union into a relationship-driven service organization with a loyal membership base. Before joining OPCS, Young was with Riverside Credit Union for over 17 years. She earned a B.S. in business administration in 1997 from Hilbert College and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison/School of Business for Credit Union Management in 1998 – 2000.
In addition to serving as treasurer of the Credit Union Association of New York's Buffalo chapter, Young is involved with Buffalo Engineering Awareness for Minorities (BEAM), Business Connections II – OP Chamber of Commerce, Great Harvest Network Group, Jesse's Children Health Mission - Dominican Republic, and the East Aurora Chamber of Commerce.
