Local CEO Speaks at Land Conservation Summit at West Point

WEST POINT, NY (04/22/2008)(readMedia)-- The largest number of volunteer leaders and professional staff from northeast land trusts and conservancies, including over 350 individuals from ten states, converged recently at West Point for an educational conference sponsored by the national Land Trust Alliance. Beth Hershenhart, president and CEO of Innovative Resources Group, was a featured presenter on leadership and development.

According to Hershenhart, “with the exponential cost of protecting land and natural resources, land trusts must dramatically increase their ability to secure philanthropic support and attract top volunteer leadership. Our workshop offered strategic insight on strengthening stakeholder engagement, building major giving programs and infusing energy and innovation into development initiatives.”

The Land Trust Alliance promotes voluntary private land conservation to benefit communities and natural systems. It is the national convener, strategist and representative of more than 1,600 land trusts across America.

As philanthropic strategists, Innovative Resources has partnered with over 200 nonprofit organizations nationwide since 1991. Based in Saratoga Springs, NY with offices in NYC, Central NY, New England, Washington DC, and San Francisco, the firm has guided land trusts, conservancies and advocacy organizations to improve the quality of life in communities.
