Saturday Saratoga Farmers' Market Features Iron Chef Competition
Chef Jason Baker of JT Bakers New Cuisine in Greenwich and Chef Tim Meaney of Beekman Street Bistro in Saratoga Springs, NY will compete in the "Iron Chef Saratoga" competition on Saturday September 20 at the Saratoga Farmers' Market.
Like the popular television show, Iron Chef America, the chefs will be judged on three dishes from a basket of products, in this competition the celebrity chefs we be presented with products that are all available at the Farmers' Market. Judging the contest will be Dr. John Sconzo, president of Slow Food Saratoga chapter; Chef Rocco Verrigni, professor of culinary arts at Schenectady County Community College, and Steve Barnes, senior writer and restaurant columnist at the Times Union.
Chefs will start cooking at 10 AM and present their creations to the judges at 11am. Their dishes will be judged on taste, originality and presentation. Radio station Star 101.3 will broadcast the competition and the results live from the Farmers' Market in High Rock Park in Saratoga Springs.
