Local Schools Get Big Break
McDonald's McTeacher's Night Fundraiser on April 2nd
ALBANY, NY (03/28/2008)(readMedia)-- Even local schools deserve a break today! On Wednesday, April 2, 2008, more than 40 Capital Region schools will receive 20 percent of sales between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. during McTeacher’s Night at Capital Region McDonald's restaurants. This will be the largest single-night, multi-restaurant school fundraiser in McDonald's history in the Capital Region.
“We are delighted to work with our local schools on this special evening to collectively raise money for education,” said Clark W. Brink, president, McDonald’s Owner Operators the Capital Region. “On an individual basis, our locally owned restaurants have been extremely supportive of schools. McTeacher's Night is our way of demonstrating our commitment to our neighborhood schools on an even grander scale.”
During McTeacher’s Night, each participating school’s principal, teachers and PTO members will have the opportunity to “work” at neighborhood McDonald’s restaurants, greeting customers and serving food alongside McDonald's managers and staff. Students and families of students, as well as local school supporters, are encouraged to come to McTeacher's Night and help educators to help themselves. Ronald McDonald will be making appearances at some of the restaurants during the three-hour period.
Each of the 73 restaurants in the McDonald's Capital Region Co-op will make a contribution of 20 percent of all sales to McTeacher's Night, whether or not they have a school in their restaurant during the 4- 7 pm event.
"We are proud to be supporters of our schools," Brink said, "and look forward to giving back to the families and educators who are our good neighbors."
