Local Student Aaron Shifreen of West hartford Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (06/28/2013)(readMedia)-- Aaron Shifreen, a member of the Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.
He is the son of Julie and Steven Shifreen of West Hartford.
Shifreen earned a B.A. degree cum laude with honor in government and international affairs at Skidmore's 102nd commencement in May. In addition, he received the Henry C. Galant Prize, named in honor of a former Skidmore professor and presented annually to a government major who has excelled in the study of comparative politics. Shifreen also was elected to Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society.
Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
