Local Student Alison DeFranco of Great Falls Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Alison DeFranco, a member of the Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

She is the daughter of Diane and Larry DeFranco of Great Falls.

DeFranco earned a B.A. degree cum laude with honor in dance at Skidmore's 102nd commencement in May. In addition, she received the Margaret Paulding Award in Dance, established in memory of a former professor and chair of the Department of Physical Education and Dance and presented annually to recognize an outstanding student performance, choreography, and/or research in dance.

DeFranco earned honors for academic work completed during the spring 2013 semester at the college.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
