Local Student Emily Gorbach of Easton Earns Honors at Skidmore College
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/21/2010)(readMedia)-- Emily Gorbach, Class of 2011 at Skidmore College, earned honors for the spring semester. She is the daughter of David and Joan Gorbach of Easton.
Highest honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.670 or more from a possible 4.0. Honors are awarded for a grade point ratio of 3.4 to 3.669.
Skidmore recognizes academic excellence in several ways. In addition to making the Dean's list (for achieving highest honors or honors), a student may be elected to the Periclean Honor Society, Skidmore's own academic honor society, or to the Skidmore chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college that enrolls approximately 2,400 students. The college grants both the bachelor of arts and the bachelor of science degree, as well as a master's degree in liberal studies.
