Local Student Emily Schlemmer of Pittsburgh Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/01/2010)(readMedia)-- Emily Schlemmer, a member of the Class of 2010 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.
She is the daughter of Amy and Pat Schlemmer of Pittsburgh.
Schlemmer earned a B.A. degree cum laude with honor in psychology at Skidmore's 99th commencement in May. In addition, she received the Amy Eisenberg '72 Memorial Award, named in honor of an alumna and presented annually to a junior or senior who submits a proposal for research in educational psychology.
She earned high honors for academic work completed during the spring semester at the college.
During her Skidmore career, Schlemmer was elected to membership in the Skidmore chapter of Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology.
Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
