Local Student Hanna Tonegawa of Chestnut Hill Earns Honors at Skidmore College
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (02/01/2011)(readMedia)-- Hanna Tonegawa, Class of 2011 at Skidmore College, earned honors for the fall semester. She is the daughter of Susumm and Mayumi Tonegawa of Chestnut Hill.
Highest honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.670 or more from a possible 4.0. Honors are awarded for a grade point ratio of 3.4 to 3.669.
Skidmore recognizes academic excellence in several ways. In addition to making the Dean's list (for achieving highest honors or honors), a student may be elected to the Periclean Honor Society, Skidmore's own academic honor society, or to the Skidmore chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college that enrolls approximately 2,400 students. The college grants both the bachelor of arts and the bachelor of science degree, as well as a master's degree in liberal studies.
