Local Student Jacob Donohue of Barrington Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Jacob Donohue, a member of the Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

He is the son of Sara and William Donohue of Barrington.

Donohue earned a B.S. degree cum laude with honor in exercise science at Skidmore's 102nd commencement in May. In addition he received the Margaret Paulding Award in Exercise Science, established in honor of a former professor to recognize outstanding student research in exercise science.

During his Skidmore career Donohue also was elected to the Thoroughbred Society, for student-athletes who achieve a grade point average of at least 3.67 or higher.

He earned honors for academic work completed during the spring semester.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
