Local Student Jared Spencer of Briarcliff Manor Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (06/16/2011)(readMedia)-- Jared Spencer, a member of the Class of 2011 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

He is the son of Jay and Robyn Spencer of Briarcliff Manor.

Spencer earned a B.A. degree cum laude with honor in psychology at Skidmore's 100th commencement in May.

Earlier in his Skidmore career, Spencer received support from the college's Jeffrey and Cynthia Treuhaft Fund for Art Technology, which provides technology in support of student opportunities to work with faculty in new and innovative ways in any art form or medium.

Spencer earned highest honors for academic work completed during the spring semester at Skidmore.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
