Local Student John Walsh of North Reading Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (06/21/2012)(readMedia)-- John Walsh, a member of the Class of 2012 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

He is the son of John and Susan Walsh of North Reading.

Walsh earned a B.S. degree magna cum laude at Skidmore's 101st commencement in May.

During his Skidmore career, Walsh was elected to membership in two honor societies: the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international honor society in economics, and Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
