Local Student Katherine Sliclen of Washington Township Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Katherine Sliclen, a member of the Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

She is the daughter of Hinda and Robert Sliclen of Washington Township.

Sliclen earned a B.A. degree cum laude with honor in sociology at Skidmore's 102nd commencement in May. In addition, she received the E. Beverly Field Gender Studies Award, named in honor of a former professor and presented annually to a student who submits the most outstanding paper or project in the area of gender studies.

She also was elected to Alpha Kappa Delta, the national sociology honor society.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
