Local Student Kathryn Moynihan of Scotch Plains Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Kathryn Moynihan, a member of the Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

She is the daughter of Michelle and Scott Moynihan of Scotch Plains.

Moynihan earned a B.A. degree cum laude with honor in history of art at Skidmore's 102nd commencement in May. In addition, she received the Whitman Family Art History Prize, awarded by the Department of Art History to a student who completes an outstanding project in an art history course.

She also was elected to Alpha Kappa Delta, the national sociology honor society, and earned honors for academic work completed during the spring 2013 semester.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
