Local Student Logan Frederick of Arlington Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (06/28/2013)(readMedia)-- Logan Frederick, a member of the Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

She is the daughter of Keith Frederick and Patricia Buckley of Arlington.

Frederick earned a B.A. degree magna cum laude with honor in geoscience at Skidmore's 102nd commencement in May.

In addition she received the Roy T. Abbott III '78 Memorial Prize, named in honor of a Skidmore alumnus and awarded annually to the senior geosciences major who has demonstrated the most enthusiasm and improvement in the undergraduate program.

During her Skidmore career, Frederick was elected to membership in Pi Mu Epsilon, the national mathematics honor society. She also was elected to the Skidmore Periclean Honors Forum, which recognizes academic achievement and promotes intellectual and creative activity as well as citizenship and civic engagement. She also was elected to the Thoroughbred Society, for Skidmore athletes who achieve a grade point average of at least 3.67 or higher.

In early 2013 Frederick was one of 10 college athletes in the country named to the inaugural Allstate Women's Basketball Coaches Association Good Works TeamĀ®. The award recognized student-athletes who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
