Local Student Rachel Klein of Basking Ridge Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (06/22/2012)(readMedia)-- Rachel Klein, a member of the Class of 2012 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

She is the daughter of Kris Klein of Basking Ridge and Marty Klein of Morristown.

Klein earned a B.S. degree cum laude with honor in social work at Skidmore's 101st commencement in May. She also received the Hilda Bashevkin Betten '39 and Morris H. Betten Award in Social Work, awarded to a graduating senior who has shown outstanding interest and achievement in the study of social work at Skidmore.

Klein earned honors for academic work completed during the spring 2012 semester.

During her Skidmore career, Klein was elected to the Skidmore Periclean Honors Forum, which recognizes academic achievement and promotes intellectual and creative activity as well as citizenship and civic engagement.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
