Local Student Sara Watchko of Sewickley Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Sara Watchko, a member of the Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.
She is the daughter of Jon and Sue Watchko of Sewickley.
Watchko earned a B.A. degree summa cum laude with honor in psychology at Skidmore's 102nd commencement in May. She also received the Krawiec Scholar award this spring. Established in honor of a former professor, the award is presented annually to a graduating psychology major to support advanced study in the field.
During her Skidmore career, Watchko was elected to membership in the college's chapter of Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology.
In addition she earned honors for academic work completed during the spring 2013 semester.
Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
