Local Teens Build Financial Skills at Union Settlement FCU's Free Week-long Summer Program

ALBANY, NY (07/20/2010)(readMedia)-- Money & Me is a weeklong interactive program developed by the New York Credit Union Foundation (NYCUF) and delivered by credit unions, free of charge, in their communities. Union Settlement FCU is one of 16 credit unions across the state hosting Money & Me sessions, which offer local teens key lessons in money management.

WHAT:

Money & Me – A free hands-on 5-day program that gives teenagers 14-18 the basics of money and how to make it work for them.

Through a series of hands-on lessons, participating teens will learn about:

• making and following a budget;

• maintaining savings and checking accounts;

• managing credit;

• saving and shopping for big purchases; and

• planning and investing for the future.
