Louisville Resident Elected to American Lung Association Board of Directors

LOUISVILLE, KY (10/13/2015)(readMedia)-- Cathy Zion of Louisville KY has been elected to the American Lung Association of the Midland State Board of Directors. Zion, who was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014 and has long family history of the disease, works as President and Publisher for Zion Publications LLC, including Today's Woman, Today's Family, and Today's Transitions.

Zion will be lending her expertise on the Advocacy and Marketing initiatives of the American Lung Association of the Midland States, which provides programs and services to the residents of Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.

In addition to her work with the American Lung Association, she is involved in a number of community organizations. She is a member of the Louisville Region Board of Directors; Member and Past Chair of the Board of Directors of Hosparus; Chair of the Kentucky Commission on Small Business Advocacy; member of the SPOT/Metro Animal Services Board of Directors; Founding Chair of the American Heart Association's Circle of Red leadership society; founder of Louisville's 100 Wise Women; and member of the Leadership Louisville Class of 2004.

In 2014, Zion underwent a successful surgery to remove her lung cancer. She walks 2 miles every day and keeps up with her two stepsons, three grandchildren, ornery cat, and active puppy.
