A Media Sneak Peek at the Luminarium, the State Fair's Newest Artistic Attraction
ST. PAUL, MINN. (08/20/2012)(readMedia)-- What?: Experience the Luminarium for the very first time during a private media photo opportunity event. This monumental inflatable sculpture is the Minnesota State Fair's newest artistic attraction with soaring domes and a dazzling maze of tunnels that immerse guests in the unexpected beauty of light and color. Hailed as a can't-miss "sanctuary of the senses," this 11,000-square-foot Luminarium is a creation of Architects of Air, based in the United Kingdom. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. all 12 days of the State Fair. Admission is $4; children under 5 are free.
Who?: Artists, exhibition managers and State Fair representatives will be on hand during this special media photo opportunity to answer questions about the Luminarium and talk about its significance.
When?: 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22
(This event will end promptly at 3:30 p.m.)
Where?: The Luminarium is located at the corner of Cooper Street and Murphy Avenue on the north end of the State Fairgrounds. Media should enter through Gate 0 by driving onto the fairgrounds off Larpenteur or Hoyt Avenues. Parking is available on the streets surrounding the Luminarium.
