DES MOINES, IA (04/12/2012)(readMedia)-- MFL Mar Mac Community School District paraprofessional, Nancy Moses, is this year's winner of the Iowa State Education Association's Education Support Professional award. She will be honored Thursday, April 12, at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines before a group of nearly 400 educators who will attend the ISEA Delegate Assembly.
"We represent so many outstanding professionals and Nancy is a wonderful example of someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty and truly exemplifies what it means to be a committed and caring professional. Nancy's dedication to the children in school and devotion to building her local make her a gift to the community" said ISEA President Chris Bern.
As a paraprofessional at the MFL MarMac McGregor Center, Nancy assists teachers in the classroom by getting materials ready, offering direct assistance to students, tutoring, supervising, and mentoring both students and teachers alike!
"It takes a special person to be able to juggle as many tasks as Nancy and still earn the respect and admiration of your colleagues and students. Nancy is such a wonderfully caring and committed professional and we are proud she is a member of the Association. Nancy embodies the Education Support Professional Award and we are delighted to be able to give her the recognition she so richly deserves," added Bern.
The Education Support Professional Award was established to recognize the many contributions school support staff members make to teachers, students, and the education profession. Nominations were submitted online or by mail beginning October 1, 2011
