Matthew Pinckney's practice includes a wide array of intellectual property services including: preparing and prosecuting patent applications, obtaining protection of trademarks and copyrights, negotiating agreements involving intellectual property holdings, and providing opinions regarding intellectual property infringement, patentability and validity of intellectual property holdings. Mr. Pinckney's particular emphasis is with integrated circuit design, testing and fabrication; nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging and related data analysis; power system components and related control systems; medical devices and testing equipment; electrical and utility network design; and software. He has been an associate with the firm since 2008.

Mr. Pinckney received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Catholic University of America, and his Law degree from The University of New Hampshire School of Law (Franklin Pierce Law Center). Prior to joining Hoffman Warnick, Mr. Pinckney completed law internships with the Hon. Lawrence E. Kahn, Senior U.S. District Judge of the Northern District of New York, and the intellectual property department of the Bose Corporation.

Carl F. Ruoff

Carl Ruoff's practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, product clearance, due diligence and transactional work. He is familiar with numerous technologies, focusing particularly on the chemical, materials, imaging, computer, display, lighting and printing arts. He has been an associate with the firm since 2008.

Mr. Ruoff received his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his Law degree from Suffolk University Law School. Prior to joining Hoffman Warnick, Mr. Ruoff served as IP counsel at Eastman Kodak.
