Media Advisory -- Electronic Updates on the Implementation of Health Reform in New York Now Available

NEW YORK, NY (08/25/2010)(readMedia)-- On August 25, the Governor's Health Care Reform Cabinet issued the first electronic update on the implementation of federal health care reform in New York. These electronic updates will be sent via email to subscribers when relevant information is available about developments in New York. All updates will also be available publicly at the following link: http://www.healthcarereform.ny.gov/implementation_updates/.

Today's update included information regarding:

· The new NY Bridge Plan, the temporary insurance program for people with pre-existing conditions;

· The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services request for public comment on rules and standards for the insurance exchanges that will be created in every state by January 1, 2014; and

· A list of available grants.
