Military Police Unit Completes Return Home

MONTGOMERY, AL (06/17/2011)(readMedia)-- The remainder of the Alabama Army National Guard's 214th Military Police Company, of Alexander City and Opelika, will return from a year long deployment in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn, Saturday, June 18. The troops are scheduled to arrive at their Alexander City armory at 2101 Sugarcreek Parkway between *12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.

The first part of the unit returned to a hero's welcome last week. Due to some travel complications, the Soldiers returning Saturday were delayed by about a week. Soldiers' families, the city of Alexander City and Alabama Guard officials will welcome home the returning Soldiers.

The 214th conducted various Military Police and Police training missions while on deployment to Iraq.

Guard officials encourage the general public to attend the homecoming to show support for the Guard members and their families.
