More public comment, transparency needed regarding long-term plan for SUNY Downstate University Hospital

Brooklyn community coalition, unions, legislators call for openness, transparency in public process as Downstate Community Advisory Board considers a long-term plan for SUNY Downstate University Hospital.

ALBANY, NY (02/03/2025) (readMedia)-- Union leaders from UUP, PEF, and NYSUT will be joined by State Senator Zellnor Myrie, Assemblymembers Brian Cunningham and Phara Souffrant Forrest, and Brooklyn faith leaders for a press conference calling on the state to consider the needs of SUNY Downstate and the people of Brooklyn when imagining the hospital's future. The Downstate Community Advisory Board will hold two more public hearings before making their recommendations to the Governor in April.
