NYS AFL-CIO Endorses Reelection of Congressman Bill Owens

Today, the NYS AFL-CIO, which represents 2.5 million union members, their families, and retirees, announced that it has endorsed Congressman Bill Owens for reelection.

NYS AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento said, "Congressman Owens understands that what New Yorkers need is good jobs now, not more political rhetoric. Since his election to Congress, Bill Owens has worked to bring widespread economic opportunity back to the North Country."

Congressman Owens said, "I'm honored to stand with the working men and women of the NYS AFL-CIO as we work together to create good paying North Country jobs."

"Our members understand that the future of the middle class depends on strong representatives like Bill Owens. The NYS AFL-CIO will coordinate a grassroots effort over the coming weeks and months to ensure that Congressman Owens can continue to fight for the working families of the 21st district in Congress."

The NYS AFL-CIO represents approximately 65,000 working men and women in the 21st Congressional District.
