ALBANY, NY (04/24/2008)(readMedia)-- The New York Capital Region chapter of the American Marketing Association will host a luncheon event with guest speaker Nancy E. Cook, National Director, Corporate Relations for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Cook will discuss overcoming challenges on the road to developing and launching a new program on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Wolfert’s Roost Country Club in Albany.

Nancy Cook has filled many roles in her 14-year career with the American Cancer Society. For the past seven years, she has focused on community based marketing and development of the Relay For Life National Corporate Team Program and corporate relations nationwide. With an emphasis on the internal corporate channel for marketing and growth of Relay For Life teams, this national program recognizing locally-based involvement has grown from four companies in 2000 to 37 companies in 2008, and raises in excess of $14 million annually for the American Cancer Society programs of patient services, prevention, detection, advocacy and research.
