ALBANY, NY (05/31/2007)(readMedia)-- The National Organization Women-New York State PAC announces its endorsement of Democrat Micah Kellner in the 65th Assembly district (East Side Manhattan and Roosevelt Island) in a special election next Tuesday, June 5 2007.
"We were very happy that Micah Kellner chose to ask for our endorsement and we are proud to give it to him today," said Marcia A. Pappas, President of NOW-New York State PAC. “Knowing that he has always been 100% pro-choice, supports same sex marriage and that he acquired his grounding on feminist issues, such as pay equity and domestic violence, while working with Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, makes us confident that he will continue to be in the forefront of the National Organization for Women-New York State's agenda once he is elected to the Assembly."
"NOW-New York State"s mission to fight discrimination also includes discrimination against people with disabilities and we are especially pleased that, as a person with a disability, he will bring a level of experience and understanding of disability issues to Albany," Pappas continued.
Upon learning of the NOW-New York State PAC endorsement Micah Kellner said, "I am extremely honored and proud to carry the banner of NOW-New York State. I look forward to working with NOW and all its members as a member of the New York State Assembly to advance our shared progressive agenda."
