New Year's Eve Celebrations Abound in Downtown Albany

ALBANY, NY (12/31/2009)(readMedia)-- There is still time to choose from an array of entertainment options for New Year's Eve in Downtown Albany. From great dining to live music amidst many festive party environments capped off with overnight accommodations at one of downtown's four great hotels, Downtown Albany has something for everyone to ring in 2010. A safe ride home is an important way to end the New Year's revelry. Systemwide, service on all CDTA routes, including STAR, will be offered FREE from 8 p.m. New Year's Eve until 1 a.m. New Year's Day. The effort is undertaken to help support Capital Region Stop DWI efforts, the transit agency said. In addition, the Albany County Stop DWI program – in conjunction with the Office of Albany County Executive Michael Breslin, the Albany and Rensselaer County Bar and Restaurant Owners Association, and Sheriff James L. Campbell – will be offering FREE ride service from 10:00pm on December 31, 2009 thru 3:00am on January 1, 2010 by calling (518) 720-8100. The Law Firm of Martin, Harding & Mazzotti is also sponsoring FREE rides home on New Year's Eve between 10pm and 2am on New Year's Day by calling 1-800-LAW-1010.
