New York Army National Guard Soldiers to March in White Plains Parade

Company C 101st Signal Battalion Takes Part in St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday.

WHITE PLAINS, NY (03/10/2010)(readMedia)-- New York Army National Guard Soldiers from the 101st Signal Battalion, based at the New York State Armory in Yonkers will be marching in the 2010 White Plains St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 13.

Twenty four Soldiers from the battalion's C Company will join other marchers when the annual parade kicks off at noon.

The parade starts at Mamaroneck Avenue & Old Mamaroneck Avenue, near Livingston Avenue, then continues north up Mamaroneck Avenue, right onto Main Street, passing the review stand at City Hall, and ending at North Broadway.

"The men and women of my battalion are proud to be part of this White Plain's tradition," said Lt. Col. Greg Dreisbach, the commander of the 101st Signal Battalion. "We consider ourselves part of the community this is one way to show it," he added.

The 101st Signal Battalion is part of the New York Army National Guard's 53rd Troop Command. Signal Corps Soldiers play a key role in modern warfare, linking widely dispersed units together.
