New York State AFL-CIO Commends Governor Cuomo & NYS Legislature for Putting New York's Economy Back on Track

ALBANY, NY (12/06/2011)(readMedia)-- Denis Hughes, President of the 2 ½ million member New York State AFL-CIO today issued the following statement regarding plans to create jobs and grow the economy:

"I commend the jobs plan put forward by Governor Cuomo because it will potentially put tens of thousands of men and women back to work across the state, while also rebuilding our crippled infrastructure. At the same time, this plan will also benefit middle class New Yorkers by creating a more fair and equitable tax system.

"In these difficult economic times, we must continue to work together to find ways to create jobs and jumpstart the economy.

"We applaud Governor Cuomo and both houses of the legislature for putting New York's economy back on track."
