ALBANY, NY (07/30/2012)(readMedia)-- Today, the New York State AFL-CIO, which represents 2.5 million union members, their families, and retirees, announced that it has endorsed the reelection campaign of Assemblyman Sean Ryan (D) in the 149th Assembly District.
New York State AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento said, "In less than a year, Sean Ryan has already left his mark on the Assembly. He has proven to working men and women throughout Western New York that he is not going to be pushed around, and he will stand up for his principles. Our unions and their members are proud to support Assemblyman Ryan because we need leaders who aren't afraid to fight for workers and their families in Albany."
Assemblyman Sean Ryan said, "It is an honor to receive the support of the New York State AFL-CIO and all the hard working middle-class New Yorkers who are represented by this great organization. I plan on continuing my fight to reform our IDA system so that the IDAs can no longer waste our tax dollars, and I will advocate for policies that strengthen middle-class families in New York. Most importantly, I promise to continue to deliver results for the working men and women of Buffalo, Lackawanna, and Hamburg."
The New York State AFL-CIO represents approximately 14,000 working men and women in the 144th Assembly District.
