on Regional News Network (RNN) - (Season Premiere Set for June 20th at 8:30 p.m.)

ALBANY, NY (05/29/2007)(readMedia)-- The New York State AFL-CIO is pleased to announce the second season of "Working New York", which will premiere on Wednesday, June 20th at 8:30 p.m. on Regional News Network.

"Working New York" is a half-hour talk show designed to inform the general public of policies, issues and initiatives important to working men and women and their families. The program airs the first and third Wednesday of each month.

The program is hosted by New York State AFL-CIO President Denis Hughes and addresses a wide range of social, political and economic issues from the point of view of working people. The show attracts a diverse collection of guests from the worlds of politics, literature, entertainment, and of course labor.

Regional News Network is a broadcast network that currently reaches close to five million households in the tri-state area. In New York, RNN airs on cable and satellite systems from Long Island, through New York City and the Hudson Valley and into Albany and the capital district area.

The first season of "Working New York" aired from September 2005 through September 2006 at 10 p.m. and the response was overwhelming. Throughout its first season, the show gained significant media attention and positive word of mouth. Now with an even better time slot, airing at 8:30 p.m, the show is expected to build on both.

In announcing the premiere of the second season of the show, President Hughes stated, "We are pleased to have this opportunity. 'Working New York' allows the labor movement to present the point of view of working men and women directly to the general public. We look forward to continuing to explore new ways to promote labor's message, and in the process, providing a stronger voice for working men and women throughout the state."

Richard French of RNN adds "We at RNN are looking forward to continuing this partnership. With serious concerns and important issues facing labor in New York, it is essential to give a forum to what is at stake and what needs to be done. In keeping with our programming, Working New York addresses real matters of real people."
