OPM and DCNG partner to help vets get jobs

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management has partnered with the District of Columbia National Guard to host a Federal Employment Workshop for District of Columbia National Guard members tomorrow, Tuesday Nov. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Office of Personnel Management, 1900 E. Street N.W. The event is part of OPM's Veterans Day celebrations.

OPM Director John Berry is hosting the event for up to 75 D.C. Guard members for a full day of workshops dealing with Federal employment.

The media is invited to attend.

Mr. Berry will be kicking off the event with Ray Decker, assistant director, Veterans Services.

A previous release said Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes-Norton and Mayor Vincent Gray were scheduled to attend. They will not be attending.

Director Berry will deliver his remarks at 8:30 a.m. Additional remarks will be made by DC Guard Land Component Commander, Brigadier General Arthur Hinaman and Director of the DC Office of Employment Services, Ms. Lisa Mallory. Maj. Gen. Errol R. Schwartz, Commanding General of the D.C. Guard, will also attend the event.
