Hosted by Kristyn Hartman from WBNS 10tv, the event will be held at Bicentennial Park in downtown Columbus on Saturday, September 29. Runners and walkers will come together to support the work of ALA and to honor those affected by lung disease or on behalf of a love one's lost to lung disease. The event is intended to raise awareness and funds for the American Lung Association's research, education and advocacy initiatives in Central Ohio. Dr. Kim Arcoleo, Associate Professor College of Nursing, Director Center for Promoting Health in Infants, Children, Adolescents & Women at The Ohio State University explains her commitment to the event:

"As an asthma researcher , who believes in being embedded in the community, it's important to me to support institutions, organizations, and events that help children and adults with asthma achieve optimal health. I am fortunate to have outstanding community collaborators with the American Lung Association and Nationwide Children's Hospital who endorse my research efforts. Supporting the Fight for Air 5K Run/Walk through financial sponsorship and a cadre of Ohio State University College of Nursing volunteers is one small way I can give back. I am committed not only to my research endeavors but to helping this charter of the ALA achieve its goals through our continued partnership."
