OSU Star Raymont Harris Joins with American Lung Association As Honorary Chairperson for Climb

COLUMBUS OH (12/07/2012)(readMedia)-- The American Lung Association is fighting for air and they're looking for enthusiastic climbers to join them for the third annual 2013 Fight For Air Climb to be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Rhodes Tower in downtown Columbus.
OSU football star Raymont Harris is back as Honorary Chairperson for the second year to lead the Fight for Air Climb event. and all registered Climbers will have a chance to "Beat The Buckeye" by attempting to beat Raymont's Climb time for prizes and bragging rights.
"I encourage anyone interested in fitness or who wants to get fit, to get involved with this great event. We'll be doing something healthy, having a blast and doing great work in the fight for air all at the same time," said Raymont.
Participants in the Fight for Air Climb will challenge themselves to race up 40 flights of stairs (880 steps) while raising awareness and money to fight against lung disease and support lung health research, education and advocacy in central Ohio.
Check-in begins at 8am with the first Climbers starting at approximately 9:15 am.
Online registration is now open at www.ClimbColumbus.org . The registration fee is only $25 through12/31/12, then $35 thereafter.
Each registrant must fundraise a minimum of $100 to participate.
Climbers can qualify for a variety of incentive prizes as well as compete for awards for fastest male and female in multiple age categories along with other individual and team awards. All Climbers who raise the minimum fundraising amount will receive a tech t-shirt and medal.
Lung diseases such as asthma and COPD cannot yet be cured, but they can be managed. Making sure people know what's needed to take control of these lung diseases is one of the American Lung Association's top priorities. 35 million Americans are living with chronic lung diseases such as asthma, lung cancer and COPD. Lung cancer is America's #1 cancer killer.
