PEF Statement on "Less is More" Parole Legislation

ALBANY, NY (09/22/2021) (readMedia)-- PEF President Wayne Spence issued the following statement on the passage of "Less is More" parole reform legislation:

"PEF fought for years to prevent the passage of so-called "Less is More" parole reform. Now that Gov. Hochul has signed it into law, its impact must not be placed on the hardworking parole officers or the system. There is no longer any accountability for those under parole supervision. The victims of crimes in the state of New York have been forgotten. The politicians who passed this bill will need to be held accountable for the new victims and unsafe communities it will create."
