PEF to honor fallen members on Workers Memorial Day
ALBANY, NY (04/26/2021) (readMedia)-- PEF will commemorate Workers Memorial Day by honoring the 31 members who passed away from COVID-19 and other causes since April 2020. The AFL-CIO established Workers Memorial Day in 1970 to recognize workers who died or suffered from exposures to hazards in the workplace.
WHO: | PEF President Wayne Spence, PEF Secretary-Treasurer Kay Alison Wilkie and USW Local 9265 Treasurer Tammy Carney will speak. |
WHAT: | PEF will commemorate Workers Memorial Day by honoring the 31 members who passed away from COVID-19 and other causes since April 2020. The ceremony will take place at the memorial outside the building, to the right when you enter the parking lot. |
