Palatine Native enlists in Illinois Army National Guard

SPRINGFIELD, IL (02/08/2018) (readMedia)-- Springfield, Ill. – Pvt. Daniel Crespo, of Palatine, Illinois, was sworn into the Illinois Army National Guard Jan. 19, at the Chicago Military Entrance Processing Station.

Crespo enlisted as a 91C, Utilities Equipment Repairer, and is assigned Company C, Recruit Sustainment Program in Machesney Park, Illinois.

Upon completion of his initial training, Crespo will be assigned to the 3635th Component Repair Company.

Crespo is a 2015 graduate of Palatine High School, Palatine, Illinois.

After successfully completing his training, Crespo will be eligible for the Illinois National Guard Grant, which pays 100 percent of college tuition while he works as a full-time student and a part-time Soldier. He will also be eligible for the Select Reserve G.I. Bill and federal tuition assistance.

Staff Sgt. Chad Wille of Company C, congratulated Crespo and welcomed him into the Illinois Army National Guard.
