Park Police thank DC National Guard for efforts during Presidential Inauguration

WASHINGTON, DC (03/25/2013)(readMedia)-- United States Park Police Officers Major Patrick C. Smith, Commander of Icon Protection Branch and Captain Charles J. Guddemi, Commander of Special Events visited the DC Armory Monday to present tokens of appreciation to the DC National Guard for assistance during the 57th Presidential Inauguration.

"We always know we can call upon the DCNG." Said Smith.

Maj. Gen. Errol R. Schwartz DCNG Commanding General DCNG, Brig. Gen. Renwick L. Payne, The Adjutant General, DCNG and Brig. Gen. Kenny Ricket, Director, DCNG Joint Staff were present at the event to accept on behalf of the DCNG.

"Park Police and the DCNG share a common goal of protecting our Nation's Capital." said Schwartz. "We are proud of what the Park Police, local law enforcement and our National Guardsmen were able to accomplish during this event, and we look forward to our future successes together."
