Prattville Unit Returns from Deployment
Release #:2010061702
The Alabama Army National Guard's 217th Military Police Company, of Prattville, will be returning from a year long deployment to Iraq Saturday, June 19. The troops, now demobilizing in Fort Dix, N.J., should arrive at their Prattville armory at 508 U.S. Highway around 2:30 p.m. Because of the individual unit needs during demobilization and travel, the time of arrival could fluctuate.
The approximately 170 members of the 217th provided military police support to coalition forces and conducted police transition team operations to train, mentor and coach Iraqi police during their time in Iraq.
Guard officials encourage individuals to attend the homecoming to show support for the Guard members and their families.
