SCHENECTADY, NY (06/05/2008)(readMedia)-- The Price Chopper store in Torrington has been under construction since March of this year. Now complete, shoppers are invited to join in the grand reopening celebration beginning Sunday, June 8th. “I’d like to show my appreciation by personally inviting everyone to visit our new store. If folks haven’t been here in a while, they’ll love all the great changes we’ve made,” stated Bob Folensbee, Store Manager. The store has many new & improved departments and expanded offers.
The food service area has added a new soup bar, and sandwich shop. Customers can have a made to order Panini sandwich or choose from a variety of hot & cold subs and wraps. The Deli and Specialty Cheese Shop have been expanded allowing more variety.
The Starbucks coffee bar has been relocated and offers a larger seating area for shoppers to sit and enjoy a variety of coffee drinks, cappuccinos and lattes.
Also new to the store is the Artisan Bread offer. There are more than two dozen varieties of freshly baked batches of Artisan Bread The breads are slowly baked by heat rising from stones in our unique, steam injected hearth and they emerge with thick and chewy crusts. Once tasted, you may never go back to regular breads again.
Expanded departments include seafood, meat, frozen, dairy and floral. The remodeled pharmacy, now has a consultation area which allows shoppers to have private conversations with our pharmacy professionals. From now until August 2, an additional 30% will to offered off prescriptions. Robert Rybczyk, Pharmacist has been a Price Chopper associate for over 9 years. The pharmacy is open Monday – Friday 9am-9pm; Saturday, 9am-7pm; and Sunday, 9am – 5pm.
Another offer new to Torrington is Price Chopper’s Fuel AdvantEdge program. Each cash register receipt tells shoppers their AdvantEdge savings and how much they earned in gas savings. Every $50 spent earns 10 cents off a gallon of gas. Every $50 more earns another 10 cents off and so on up to 20 gallons (one vehicle per transaction) at participating Sunoco stations. Sunoco locations are: Canton, 210 Albany Turnpike, Rt. 44 and Torrington, 1758 East Main St.
