Price Chopper recalls Sundae Cones and Full Circle Snack Mixes

Price Chopper Supermarkets, Inc. is voluntarily recalling their store brand sundae cones and their natural line of Full Circle snack mixes because of possible salmonella contamination. The products include:

  • 24 oz. Price Chopper Regular Sundae Cones
  • 16 oz. Price Chopper Round Top Sundae Cones
  • 16 oz. Price Chopper Round Top Sundae Cones with Fudge.
  • 12 oz. Full Circle Master Zen Party Mix
  • 8 oz., Full Circle Mixed Nuts Roasted and Salted
  • 12 oz. Full Circle Mocha Madness Mixed Bag
  • 14 oz. Full Circle Mocha Madness Mixed Tubs

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare cases, infection with salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses, such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. This action was taken as a result of the recently expanded recall by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) to include all peanut ingredients produced in their Blakely, Georgia facility. None of the recalled Price Chopper or Full Circle products have been directly linked to the salmonella outbreak, and there have been no illnesses reported.

The recalled products were sold in price Chopper sores located in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont.
