Prostate Center of Community Care Physicians To Announce Winner of Free Motorcycle Drawing

Winner announced during prostate cancer awareness month to encourage men to be more proactive with their health

LATHAM, NY (09/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Men get their car, truck or bike checked regularly, but they sometimes neglect their own health maintenance. The Prostate Center of Community Care Physicians, P.C. encourages men to check their engines with its free prostate cancer screenings. In May 2011, The Prostate Center began its Check Your Engines™ campaign to encourage men to start talking about prostate cancer and screening. This campaign included a free drawing for a motorcycle.

Please join The Prostate Center of Community Care Physicians as it announces the winner of its free drawing for a 2010 Victory Hammer 8-Ball Motorcycle in honor of prostate cancer awareness month and to discuss the importance of prostate cancer awareness with area experts. The Prostate Center, which provides free prostate cancer screenings year round, has been giving away tickets for the motorcycle since May 2011, at local events, screenings, and online, as part of its Check Your Engines™ campaign.

The free drawing brings attention to a very serious problem for men. Prostate Cancer is the most common male cancer and, according to the American Cancer Society, this year in the Capital Region more than 1,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and 130 will die of the disease. September is prostate cancer awareness month and during this time, men age 50 and older (45 for African Americans or those with risk factors) are encouraged to speak with their physician or someone at The Prostate Center about their risk of developing the disease and whether or not screening is warranted.
