ALBANY, NY (08/15/2011)(readMedia)-- Marketing is about pinpointing challenges, and developing the right strategies and tactics to surmount them. One of the most effective ways to do this is by telling a story - after all, marketers are communicators. Sharing stories helps an audience identify with us and the universal human story, creates a personal stake for the audience, and is the very foundation of marketing.
Capital Region marketers will learn how powerful it can be to adapt their marketing insight and approach and communications skills to pursue their personal passions. The New York Capital Region chapter of the American Marketing Association (NYCRAMA) announces its September luncheon, "Pursue Your Passion Using Your Marketing Mind" with guest speaker Kim Perone, author of Vacuum Like No One is Watching: and Other Lessons from My Mother. Perone will share her personal story and advise marketers on how to face personal challenges and passions by using their marketing and communications expertise.
WHO: Kim Perone has nearly 20 years of experience in communications and marketing in the Capital Region. With a B.A. in Communication from the University at Albany, Perone started her career working in economic development. In 2000, she worked in the chemical industry as a corporate communication manager which included internal and external marketing and after 8 years, returned to economic development at a regional level at the Center for Economic Growth (CEG). In 2010, she authored the book Vacuum Like No One is Watching: and Other Lessons from My Mother. She actively engaged her marketing and communication experience to create a new avenue for pursuing her passion.
