ST. PAUL, MINN. (08/17/2015)(readMedia)-- Minnesota State Fair officials have confirmed a new show for the evening of Sept. 1* at the Grandstand. The 2015 Grandstand Concert Series is sponsored by Sleep Number.

R5 is a California-based pop-rock band made up of four siblings - Ross, Riker, Rocky and Rydel Lynch – and family friend Ellington Ratliff. They have built career momentum with recent singles "Heart Made Up on You," "Smile" and "Let's Not Be Alone Tonight." The band has also seen widespread fame due to Ross' acting career with Disney's "Teen Beach Movie" and the "Austin & Ally" television series, for which he just received a 2015 Teen Choice Award. The 2015 Grandstand shows are: Def Leppard with special guests Styx and Tesla (Aug. 27, sold out); Keith Urban with special guest Kelsea Ballerini (Aug. 28; sold out); Carrie Underwood with special guest Native Run (Aug. 29, sold out); Alan Jackson with special guest Brandy Clark (Aug. 30); Happy Together Tour 2015 (Aug. 31); Patti LaBelle with special guest the Commodores (Sept. 2); Lynyrd Skynyrd with special guest Collective Soul (Sept. 3); A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor (Sept. 4); The Avett Brothers with special guest Preservation Hall Jazz Band (Sept. 5); Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent Contest (Sept. 6 – no Grandstand ticket required); Merle Haggard & Kris Kristofferson with special guest Sturgill Simpson (Sept. 7).

The Minnesota State Fair Fireworks Spectacular, sponsored by Mazda, follows each Grandstand show, weather permitting.

*The R5 concert replaces the originally scheduled Meghan Trainor show. Meghan Trainor canceled her tour, including the Sept. 1 appearance at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand, due to vocal chord issues. Refunds are being issued from the point of purchase. Refund details:
