Recruiting Event at Newly Remodeled Springville Armory

MONTGOMERY, AL (07/20/2010)(readMedia)-- Alabama Army National Guard recruiter, Staff Sgt. Sheyra Rogers, hosted a recruiting event at the newly remodeled armory in Springville, Ala. on Saturday, July 17th. The event featured fun activities from the Alabama Guard's Mobile Events Team including an inflatable hamster ball, sumo wrestling suits, a football toss, an H3 Hummer and lots of free gifts, food and fun. Local Army Guard recruiter, Staff Sgt. Sheyra Rogers, generated the event in an effort to inform the community about the Guard and the opening of the new armory which houses the Alabama Guard's 208th Chemical Company. Rogers says she wants the community to know that even though the armory's doors haven't officially opened, she is still recruiting for the unit which just returned home from an overseas deployment. The armory's official grand opening is slated for later in September.
