Richard Andrew Steadman III inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College

SPARTANBURG, SC (04/28/2010)(readMedia)-- Wofford College senior Richard Andrew Steadman III was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Thursday, April 22, when he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Steadman established himself as one of the academic leaders in the class of 2010 by serving as a four-year member of the Wofford Honor Council. Majoring in biology, he served as a lab assistant for several courses and volunteered in the emergency room at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A member of Kappa Alpha Order, he served as treasurer of the Order of Omega, the Greek Honor society, and claimed the inter-fraternity council Senior Scholar Award. Recently, he was elected as the chartering vice president of the Wofford chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the national pre-professional health honor society. Twenty-nine Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 69th anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.
