"Rock'n Round the Grounds" at the 2014 Corndog Kickoff

DES MOINES, IA (07/07/2014)(readMedia)-- Join the Blue Ribbon Foundation in "Rock'n Round the Grounds," at the 18th annual Corndog Kickoff Benefit Auction and Fair Food Grazing Party on Saturday, July 12 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Doors to the William C. Knapp Varied Industries Building will open at 6:30 p.m. for a night filled with exciting auction packages, entertainment and all of your favorite Fair foods. Gear up for the 2014 Iowa State Fair while raising funds to renovate and restore the historic Fairgrounds!

Since its inception in 1997, the Kickoff has raised more than $3.1 million for Fairgrounds renovations. Last year's event drew a crowd of 1,600, raising a record high of $416,000! All proceeds go toward the renovation and restoration of the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Highlights from this year's 30 live and 186 silent auction packages include:

• ACM Talent For You - The Academy of Country Music recognizes great country music talent and here's your chance to hear it in person with two tickets to the 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

• Deer Season - Here's an opportunity to have an out-of-state hunting buddy join you during deer season. One out-of-state deer tag. The hunter chooses the season that they want to hunt and the tag can be designated for this hunting season (2014-2015) or 2015-2016 season.

• It's A Hawkeye State - This package gives you the opportunity to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes with six tickets for the University of Iowa vs Ball State football game on September 6. Your seats are along the 50 yard line, row 30 and have seatbacks.

• Have You Seen? - Think you know the Fairgrounds? Here's a tour that will take you to places we bet you've never seen. The bunker, the warehouse, third floor of the Cultural Center, the Administration Building, the jail, Horseman's Hall of Fame, Ice & Feed, Campgrounds Safe Shelter, the Gammon Barn and the cooler for the butter cow to name just a few.
